Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s the difference between a Social Sauna and a Private Sauna session?

A: A Social Sauna session is a shared experience where you may enjoy the sauna alongside other guests who have booked the same time slot. This community-style setting encourages connection, conversation, and meeting new people—an approach deeply rooted in traditional Finnish sauna culture. Social sessions are open to participants 16 years and older. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A Private Sauna session is exclusively yours. For one flat rate, you’ll have the sauna entirely to yourself and may bring up to five guests total at no additional cost. Private sessions are also open to participants 16 years and older, with a parent or guardian required for anyone under 18.

Q: What should I expect when I arrive?

A: Upon arrival at Frog Hollow, you’ll be immersed in a peaceful, natural setting surrounded by pine trees. Please note that cell phone service is limited, allowing for a true disconnect and mindful experience.

Your session begins with a brief overview of the sauna cycle—heat, cool, relax, and hydrate. Your guide, Gary, will walk you through how to safely use the Finnish sauna, answer any questions, and ensure everyone feels comfortable. This experience is rooted in both relaxation and science-backed wellness practices.

Each guest is provided:

  • A fresh towel

  • Bottled water

  • A clean, private area to change

A well-maintained porta-potty is available for sauna guests. The cabin itself is closed during sauna season and is not accessible unless booked as an overnight stay.

Q: What do I need to do to prepare for my sauna session?

A: To get the most out of your experience:

  • Stay well hydrated before arriving

  • Avoid heavy meals beforehand

  • Wear comfortable swimwear or breathable clothing

  • Avoid clothing with metal fasteners or accessories

  • Bring easy-to-remove footwear such as sandals or flip-flops

You’ll be surrounded by nature, so expect fresh air, outdoor elements, and a peaceful campground atmosphere.

Q: What happens if I can’t attend my session?

A: Because your sauna session reserves a dedicated time slot, no-shows are non-refundable. However, if you provide written notice at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled session, we are happy to issue a full refund.
