This charming riverside retreat gets its name from the bullfrogs and peepers that sing their hearts out, celebrating the arrival of spring and its guests, filling warm summer nights with their cheerful chorus. Tucked among majestic oaks, pines, and hickories, this cozy cabin is a dream hideaway for nature lovers, writers, and anyone craving a little creative inspiration. While it feels like a secluded paradise, you’re still just 10-15 minutes from grocery stores and local shops – so you can enjoy the best of both worlds!
Frog Hollow offers a magical escape. As the sun sets on a cool evening, fire up the woodstove to keep things toasty, snuggle up for a Netflix night on the Smart TV, or head outside to the massive riverside fire pit for s’mores and stargazing. When it’s time to unwind, slip into a plush bathrobe and climb up to the queen-sized log-post bed, wrapped in luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets – the perfect spot to drift off to the soothing sounds of nature. For those craving adventure, grab a telescope to spot wildlife, paddle a canoe or a kayak down the river, cast a fishing line, or simply splash around and soak up the great outdoors.

Important Notes:
- No soap, shampoo, or conditioner rinsing inside the sauna.
- Basic knowledge of a wood stove is required if it is to be used- we’ll set it up, and you can maintain your ideal temperature.

FOREST BATHS – Please reserve at time of booking.
Immerse yourself in pure relaxation with a magical forest bath, soaking in a gorgeous cast-iron tub under the twinkling stars. Relax by the pond and watch the ducks as you soak in our peaceful forest baths. Each forest bath includes herbal bath salts. The cost is $150 for both tubs, with a $75 nonrefundable deposit required at the time of booking. Add a luxurious milk bath with seasonal herbs and flowers for an additional $25. Please let us know at the time of booking if you’re interested in the forest bath or milk bath, and we will send a request for $75 non-refundable deposit to reserve your forest or milk bath. Available seasonally until temperatures consistently drop below freezing.
Please Note: The hot water shower is located outdoors, approximately 30 feet from the cabin’s front door. The water heats up quickly, and you’ll enjoy the sounds of birdsong while showering in nature. Inside the cabin, you’ll find an indoor standard half bathroom with hot, running water and a toilet.
For our security purposes, there is a camera above the front entrance door facing the driveway.
Nature Retreat: This is a rustic, nature-immersed getaway. Wildlife is part of the experience—expect to see (or hear!) mice, bugs, birds, snakes, coyotes, deer, beavers, and more. If you love the outdoors and don’t mind the occasional surprise encounter with nature, you’ll feel right at home. However, if sharing space with critters isn’t your thing, this may not be the right fit for you.
Potential for Noise: On weekdays, you may hear a freight train crossing the river 2–3 times a day, with a brief (approx. 3-minute) whistle and rumble. Across the river, there is also occasional ATV activity on private land.
Temperature-Control during Spring & Late Fall: The cabin is now equipped with a mini-split for your comfort. The cabin will already be warm and cozy for your arrival on days if the outdoor weather is below 40 degrees. There is also a cozy wood stove, so familiarity with operating a wood stove is absolutely essential to use it. Once you’ve started it, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the wood stove to your comfort level throughout your stay. Please remember: never leave the stove door open—embers can escape and cause injury or damage.
Other things to note:
The owners live on an adjoining property. We’re dog friendly! Please feel free to bring along your furbabies (up to 2!), no puppies or cats please, include them in your listing (for a $75 pet fee) and ensure that you pick up after them. We have provided doggy bags to make this as convenient as possible.
Smoking of any kind is prohibited inside the cabin and in the screened-in porch.
Our goal is to create a cabin that meets a need that we had when we were searching for a cabin ourselves, a place that is more special and private than a hotel room, where we could relax by the water and make an easy meal. A place that was updated and simple, yet has a cozy and special feel. A place that was centrally located and still provided more privacy than a hotel room with people above, below, and beside you.
